Welcome to Atlanta Music High School

We're Atlanta's only independent music conservatory. We offer passionate music students grades 5-8 and 9-12 an appealing alternative to traditional public, private and home schooling. Our mission is to provide elite academics and rigorous musical training that intelligently balances the demands of both. Whether the graduate's plan is to pursue a career in music or to go in another direction for college, our approach is designed to support each student's development of an authentic musical perspective and cultivation of a capstone portfolio. We believe when students strive to reach their fullest potential in both music and academics, they are not only engaged in an intrinsically meaningful process, but they are also prepared for a rich life well beyond their secondary education.

Our Founding

Atlanta Music High School is offered through the collaboration of two well-established schools: Rivers Academy Atlanta and the Community Music Centers of Atlanta.

Academics

SACS/Advanced Ed accredited academics, including AP courses, are offered on a condensed schedule through collaboration with Rivers Academy Atlanta. The design of our routines leaves ample time for devotion to musical studies.

Music Immersion

Explore your passion for classical, jazz, rock or folk music through deep immersion in a program that includes applied music (private lessons), theory and musicianship courses, and small ensemble performance.

Balance

Our approach balances academics with intensive musical training. The schedule and routines are sensitive to the time it takes for emerging artists to develop their voices and hone their craft.

Logistics

With academics and musical training at a shared campus and tuition rates that are highly competitive, we save families time and money. We want everyone focused on what's most meaningful about our mission.

Our Campuses

Our primary campus for AMHS musical training is located in Little 5 Points/Inman Park. Students may also schedule elements of their studies and practice at our Decatur, Dunwoody or Brookhaven locations.
