Diana Orozco is the cofounder and served as a Community Music Centers of Atlanta Director and faculty member since 2007. She was also the full-time pre-primary-6th grade music teacher at The Children’s School in Midtown Atlanta from 2000-2013. In addition to her experience at CMC Atlanta and The Children's School, she has taught on faculty, in workshops, and in summer day camps at a number of Atlanta area schools and programs, including the Montessori School at Emory, Rivers Academy and the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education.
Since moving to Atlanta in the mid 1990s, Diana has been cultivating pianists of all ages. Before opening the Music Center, she maintained a piano studio of 30 or more students from her home in the Morningside and then Inman Park neighborhoods of Atlanta.
Diana is interested in in a variety of educational issues, reflected in extensive training she received while at The Children's School in subjects like differentiated learning styles and brain-based methodologies. Diana studied music and music education at the Oberlin College-Conservatory. She also enrolled in graduate course at the Eastman School of Music and studied arts management at the graduate level through an on-line series of courses offered by the University of Massachusetts.
